About Gryphon

We love theatre.

We started Gryphon Venues because we’re passionate about the free-for-all of artistic expression that is the Edinburgh Festival Fringe–it’s like nothing else in the world.

For the 2011 Fringe, Gryphon ran two performance spaces at the conference centre of the elegant and modern Point Hotel Edinburgh, within sight of the Castle.  We hosted performances ranging from children’s theatre to drama, musicals, cabaret, cirque and comedy, by companies from around the world.  We had hundreds of performances, four- and five-star reviews, sell-out shows, two Scotsman “hotshows”, and thousands of performers, patrons and crew through our doors.  We’re proud those shows and our wonderful staff.  Read about it all here.

For 2012 we’re back at the Point Conference Centre, and we’re raring to go.  Applications are open!

Gryphon may be a relatively new name on the Fringe, but the team behind the name is well experienced in Fringe venue management.  It’s important to us to make our companies and patrons feel at home.  We’re making a reputation for ourselves as the friendliest venue staff on the Fringe.  We’re professionals committed to creating a thriving arts venue with all the energy and fun of the festival itself.
